FMS flight simulator win 7

Hi, I have recently purchased an fms usb r/c flight simulator which comes complete with software. I have installed the bets 7 version and added the missing DLL. When I launch the software I can choose the model and background and I can even make it move whith the keyboard. When however I go to select Joystick nothing moves despite the fact that I can see it is being recognised as I can make adjustments to the calibration. Has anyone had any experience of this or have I bought a pup? The software does seem very basic and as a total newbie to R/C it comes with no guidance what so ever to know even how to start. (it does not even tell you what the calibration should be!)

Any help or guidance would be apprecaited.

First calibrate the controller using Windows Control Panel. Usually it is called Game Controller or something like that.

If you can calibrate it there, it is working and FMS should work with it. Under an [Advanced] tab, you need to choose your controller if there is more than one on your computer. Otherwise, FMS will see the first one in the list which may not be the one you want.

Then in FMS, follow the calibration method for the [Controls] [Analog Control] [Joystick interface] and then click [Mapping/Calibation].

Also, FMS alpha 8.5 is the latest version of FMS and will fly both alpha 8 and beta 7 models. Alpha 8 models have much better flight physics and ground handling.
