Create scenaries for fms

The 3D terrain are photolistic the last time i check.
it's just those images are being stetch or the mess of the terrain
is not big enough..just like the models.
If you zoom on the FMS model's cad, you'll notice the model's
pixel starts to break up or have jagged lines. Not the .bmp
images that gets paste on it, but the 3D cad or mess itself.

A 3D terrian world is still a model
A skybox is a model
A sphere is a model

This is what I'm trying to do Icaba...You see my sky ???
See how they're not stretch or blurr
I'm half way there.

Notice sometimes how when you do a flying over head..sometimes
the sky breaks up or you see pixel squars...well it bugs the heck
out of me... i know i can alway trun on the playstation.lol
But I'm trying to learn

You notice those jagged lines on the hills ?
It dosn't matter what size image i pasted on it.
The mess needs to be more define.

You notice those pixel square on the ground ?

But I'm not sure what those numbers serpersent
The quardrant numbers.... 0 0 1 1 fileds

im' thinking it's telling it to paste or map the ,bmp for the ground

I'm thinking or asking..of creating more quads within the quadrents

This is the world scnery or it's using the hightdistribution.
I just relocated some objects and air brush the terrain's .bmp

I increase a sky .bmp to 2048x2048..but what really helped it
is I pushed the sky up ...The plain that the sky gets mapped on
to...without boundaries

The very first line in the .scn file
I increased it to 1300...I'm thinking i pushed it 1000 pixels out,
the same as zooming out...this way the you get a nice clear picture.
300 is just too close. The more you push it up the more
blank (white) space you'll see...whaa..la..i wonder who invented the
fog.lol
Notice you'll see a little bit of white behind the buildings or tree.
In chase mode you'll really see it without the fog.
Or click #9 to raise the pilot's posistion without fog.
That's why you trun on the fog in 3D mode.

Btw I have seen that red panel that you speak of Iscaba

Hello lcsaba and smcxx66,
with fms_pl I can do simple photo scenarios combining all photos taken with autostick. The scenary is unrealistic but is fine to start the same.
With this program there is a way to insert the sky and the earth below?
Later try better fmsxyz.

Thanks
stefanor

Stefanor..now why would you wanna go on and do that when I hooked
you up. ?

FMS PL is cool and all..but it's only in cylinder. I used it for 5 mins
and it droved me insane.lol
I used some of the sceeries for fms from rc-sim..they drove me crazy..
Those skybox sceneries were converted WRONG.
They have IMPROPER FISHEYE

That's what the cube convertor is for.
It's for you to converter pano into six images, so you can use it
with that .scn that you posted.

It's the same as how Quicktime gets mapped.
You can even get a free skybox convertor if you have Apple.
Jusdt google SKYBOX serch under Image and you'll get the
general idea. There's links , threads everywhere about how
to map a skybox

All you have to do is increase the aerofly or reflex's pano
or equiretangular from flicker
to 8160x4080 before you feed it into the convertor.

It's the easiest way for you to get started.

if it's too difficult just to the Preflight Website and
download the Skybox pano for free.
He has it as a download for free.
Just rename those image files accordingly.
There's even instructions on how to make a skybox scenery.

I don't even know german but there's other sceneries from RC-sim
with enlish text or .scn file

hunt is TOP
sol is Bottom
dereite is Right...etc.

There's so many different ways

what i wanna know is how do you make those negative images ??
this way it'll be easier to create crash pionts or objects.

i know why Iscaba wants perfect images.lol

Here's my progress on 3D sceneries for the chase.
Notice the lines for the quads ??

Notice there's no more lines and the terrain actaully has more details
and look better
I learned how to map it from studying the rekin20 scenery

i do a simple copy and paste from other sceneries files into my file and transfer the images into the new scenery folder accordingly.

The mess for those towers are big. Those are big towers.lol
I have bollons and the pratice rings in there too.

I also adjust the terrain by shading the Hieght distribution image.
with artweaver just using a simple air brush.
white to lower , black to raise.

i don't need to run fog..lol
i made mountians or hills

This is what i want to do..

the example image

Notice the jagged lines for the model's mesh or CAD.

Notice my fade flame job.lol
The images pixels aren't breaking up even at crazy close range.
Notice the logos on it. Those image gets mapped on as a seperate
image. That's why the TT logo or raptor logo stills stays in detail.

I want to be able to do that to the area surrounding the runway

Bascially if i know how to map in image to an object.
I can place that object with grass photograph surrounding
the pilot's posistion when not in chase mode and my flying
site will look kick butt. Have the object sits .00001 off of the
ground(terrain's hieght).lol

I can assign a differnt image (grass photo) to that building.
A grass image will become the roof of that building...
Then place that build right next to the runway...with only
a little bit of the roof above terrrain level.
That's my other alternative until i get into making models again.lol

////////////////////////////////
///// I tried it.lol
////////////////////////////////

Thanks Icsaba...

After I set that number to 1500. I darken the edges of the
Higth distribution to raise the terrrain on the edges.
This way it'll hide the gap between the terrain and the sky.
Meaning I can't see that White empty space. Then when I
trun the fog OFF. The sky looks clearer without seeing the
white, when in FIX posistion.

Those simple object will be sufficent to start. ..Please.
it'll be good for making buildings.

Maybe a cylinder too...so I can make silo or oil tanks
or round buildings

okay, another question

U,V, X,Y,Z

what dose U ,V repersent ?

example....

1 255 10.0000000 20.000000 5.5

I'm assuming it's for the first two numbers.
and I'm assuming it's sepresent a refference piont.

then you can help me map...please

I did this...I stretch the building..but I rather have a runway object.
For the runway..i made it twice as long by increasing the Y numbers.
For the grass...I increased X and Y.
I decreased the (hight) Z to .5

Basically those grass panels use the same image of the bigger map
of the entire terrrain.

Thanks for taking the time to help me Icsaba.
I'll have to read it over and over again.
It dose make sence to me thou....I think.

so...the four lines of numbers, bascailly gives me a coner(piont) of an image or a square , rectanglar ?
As an example of the cube.

But lets say for a octagon..
There would be 8 lines of numbers as a group ?

I'll have to get back to you after my brain absorb it a little.
and after I read it again a couple more times.

There's plenty more I have to ask you.

Here's a 3D scenery I made.
down load it here
http://www.mediafire.com/?0ezxhwfvveb

I want to be able to map in my own images.
I like to be able to map in smaller ground panels.

Notice what I did to resolve the posistioning of the pilot's
height (on default). If you rename it to "grass" You see
a nice clear picture of the grass tile (image).

You can go into chase mode and not see it becase i use a black
image and set to transparent.

Notice the small tower..It's transparent but the .bmp arn't blacked out.
it's also a 3D object.

Btw ...i want a copy of your chase taki scene..lol
and I still want to know what that second number stands for ...
the 5000.

I notice one of th slop scenries the numbers are 2000 5000
instead of 300 5000.

here some screen shots.
I want the ground to look better than that.lol
But it looks better than before ..thou.
