Error: Floating point value: PiIot_position-172-130 0 ...

Hello Everyone,

I just got started with FMS I downloaded some extra planes and landscapes from a person (nuttcase) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HK8CH2uC ... ded#at=482
who explanted on youtube how to do it..Very well, how he did that, I must say

The Airsplanes work well.

But landscapes is a problem (exept from training scenery)
When I put the data in FMS and am trying to load it, it will give me the following error:

Error: Floating point value: PiIot_position-172-130 0 ...

Does anyone know what could be the cause of this problem.
I am running an old pc, might that be it? 2,4 Ghz, 512MHz and and a Matrax mileninum G400 dualhead.

Many thanks!

Hi Baulig ,

if your computor can load some landscapes and not others , then there's nothing wrong with your computor . some landscapes in the net have fault themself .

if you are running FMS2alpha85 ( newest version of FMS ) in windows XP (your computer) , then try this landscape to see it can load :

download link :

http://www.mediafire.com/?csh42upwrc3g6fi

after download , unzip , copy and paste the whole folder name " Field MBG Bargteheide " into your FMS/LANDSCAPE . that is it ! :D

run your FMS and see how you like the landscape . enjoy !!! :D

the beautiful photo landscape " Field MBG Bargteheide " is the work of Harald Bendschneiders . thank you ! :D

another beautiful landscape of Harald Bendschneiders made for Heli-x . I converted it for use in FMS2alpha85.

download link :

http://www.mediafire.com/?0e4hywwyk1s1s35

download , unrar, copy and paste the whole folder into your FMS/LANDSCAPE . Enjoy !!! :D

for those who have windows vista and/or windows 7 , if it does not work , then just " RESIZE " the bmp image file name : " Luebec-Airport_bottom " ( it is in the folder you have just downloaded ) to 2049x2049 then it should work . :D

I only can say:

Many many thanks for helping me out with this matter!
I got both of your links working with newer FMS simulator! Its ganna save me a lot on repairs !

One problem occurs sometimes, had this with the other versions of FMS as well: the programma swop to some sort of a slomotionsetting and then gives me only about 1 or 2 Frame per second. Try to figger out where it is coming from. would it some sort of quickcache of the pc that runs full?

Hi Baulig ,

It happens to me some times too ! :D

OK , when I am running FMS , some times it just becomes too slow , frame by frame I can tell . :D

Do this :

when FMS is running , on the top of the screen , we got a line of different settings like : file , models , landscape ..........graphics.....

move the mouse to GRAPHICS , we got : fog , smooth textures , textures , option .

uncheck : fog .
uncheck : smooth textures .
check : texture .

click on option :

-check : 32 bit .
-check : wait for vertical blank
-check : flip back buffer
-check : mipmaping
-click : ok . :D

the FMS model will be set at starting point again and it will be smooth this time . :D

if it happens again , just click : graphic , option and click OK . :D

That will set the model at the starting point again . :D

I think , even the newest version of FMS is already 7 or 8 years old . it is not up to date ...

I also think by doing that , it just REFRESH FMS . :D

there is nothing wrong with our computers . :D

Some thing as I did as well and improved was:

I read in some other posts you might want switch other programmes off as well. Did that (skype and some downloadprogramm's)
Go to Windows Task Manger -> processes-> rightklick FMS-> and set prrioty on ' high'
Some other info I found that was helpfull
running the game full screen instead of in a window dubbled de FPS !!!

Now I am on 70 FPS. perfect!
