Problems with DX8?? - Back ground is improperly displayed.

Has anyone had a direct x8 problem where the background is improperly displayed? The background took on a blueish tint after I installed dx8 and the sky looks like pipes in neon colors. Everything has an improper, unrealistic look to it and the textures look really weird.
I am about ready to try a dx uninstall if you can't help. Of course you probably already know microsoft does not provide uninstallers for dx

I found that directx8a has corrected the problem. Just update version 8 to 8a. 8a is still in beta version so other things may happen to other programs.
