Installation Problems - "Necessary since Direct X6" ??

I have windows 98
I installed FMS and I get this warning window:
"Necessary since Direct X6"
I downloaded microsoft direct X8
FMS still did not work
I uninstalled FMS, then re-installed FMS
I still get this same warning:
"Necessary since Direct X6"
what does this mean ?

This error message is most certainly created when the FMS can't initialize the DirectDraw surface from DirectX. The reason for this could be some problem between DirectX and your graphics card.

To check this you could run DXDiag (the DirectX Diagnose Tool). To start DXDiago, open the window to run an application (Start/Run, in German "Ausführen" ) and enter "dxdiag". Run once all tests in this tool. Perhaps you can get this way a hint to the problem.

Turns out Direct X 8 never downloaded to my PC correctly from Microsoft.
I tried to download Direct X 8 at least 8 times before the update was downloaded and installed sucessesfully.

Hi Guys
I am trying to use the Ripmax Joystick Controller with FMS. I can callibrate in control panel and FMS does see the transmitter but will not allow me to callibrate it. I therefore have no control of the model.

Try calibrating in Windows first and then make sure you select your Ripmax as the primary windows controller under the Advanced button.

If you can calibrate the controller in Windows, FMS will calibrate too. -- ggunners
