Try this..there links all over the place that'll get you to the page

Bascially FMS was designed before the time of USB ports
and so was Windows. You just need to add a ghost comport
( old D-sub type connectors) in the device manager.
Whatever your PC assigned as a new port..(nothing to install physically).
You just need to write that patch using NOTEPAD and assign it
that same port number.
Bascailly FMS needs to recognize a comport for it to run, wheater
you're using it or not.
Click on that file twice, then click on FMS shortcut icon.
it should fire right up...mine did.
It depends if your running in system32 or 64 also.
There an extended version of that .dll file for 64.
FMS runs in Vista, most of the problem is the vedio card combo.
Slower Nvedia, Vista, FMS = flashing screens.
People have gotten them to work with more powerful Nvedia cards.
I get a flashing screen with a Go 6150 (128mb) share memory.
However, I've gotten the flashing to go away...but my screen will
stick becuase the card is simple not powerful enough when i load
mega pixel 2048x2048 images in photlistic mode....
Thank god my tower has XP..but that's how I fix the comport issue.
You also have to be aware... that not all sceneries you down load
has .bmp types files in them. You need to convert those sceneries
.jpg files into 24bit .BMP files for them to work or you'll get an error.
Most of the instructions are in German or French.
.jpg files are smaller then .bmp files. If I upload a scenery with .bmp
2048x2048 photolistic sceneries for FMS..it's going to be at
70-90mb...it'll blow the server.lol
