Interesting "error." I can't get the model to fly.

Yes you are using an 2.8 model and it's classed as IC.

You must load or initialise such a model with the throttle OPEN to tickover. With an IC model (2. if you close the throttle the engine stops and won't restart by opening the throttle. Just like a real one. If it's classed as Electric the motor starts when opening the "throttle" from stopped. Just like a real one.

If you look at the size of the .par file in fms\model then if it's 2k it's a 2.7 model. If it's 12k to 20k it's a 2.8 model. 2.7 models will fly in 2.8 but not vice versa.

You also have to makesure you convert the photloistic sceneries
images into .bmp (24bit). If you loaded a photolistic scenery or some
of the 3D scenries, that the images was compressed into .jpg types
for downloading.

This too will cuase an error and sometimes even shutdown your
PC entirely.

Or maybe you load photolistic sceneries into the 2.7 version.
2.7 dose not support photolistic pano sceneries...this too will
cuase it to error and shutdown.

On some models..you have to hand launch it.
The model will appear of the screen/runway and won't move....so you think there's something wrong.

Press the launch botton.

2.85 has an add on software call par edit.
You can set a hook to a model and winch launch it.

You can simply replace a .par file of a 2.7 model with a 2.8 model
that's simular....if some models are acting strange.

On some models you simply just need to raise the wheels to
prevent it from sinking into the terrain. The par edit software
can do this easily.

.par files comes in veriouse versions.
Find a version that you can comprehend.
I prefer English.

I simply just use NOTEPAD to open the .par file

The luanch...it took me a day to figure that out.

Those scale Aircombat or slope gliders type models...like in real R/C

I have this problem with XP and the latest software (8.5).

TX interface and calibration are OK, and the Transall model runs without problems. When I switch to the other powered models the throttle does not work (if fully closed). To solve this I have to load the Transall, advance the throttle a little, and then load the model I want - after this they run OK. Is this normal? if so, is it the problem of engine starting as explained above?
Can the engine be started by other means?

It's not a problem it's a feature. If you close the throttle on an IC model the engine stops!
