Exception EComPort in module fms.exe at 0008B728.

I'm sure its been asked but i can not find the answer.
I keep getting this error message when I try to open fms on my xp pc
"Exception EComPort in module fms.exe at 0008B728. Registry error"
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That search button at the top for "Windows COM port" does wonders.
