My joystick (transmitter) randomly stopped working

I had FMS running for months using the 4 channel controller I got with my SkyArtec plane.

Last week a friend gave us a 6 channel Futaba controller. I plugged it in and it worked! It was great.

Today I went to play FMS and the controller isn't working at all. None of the joysticks do anything. I can't calibrate it because there is no response when I move the joysticks.

I tried using the old controller again and that one isn't working, either.

Has anyone else's controller just randomly "stopped working?"

Was there a setting I could have accidentally hit to turn off the joystick or something?

edit - sorry, running FMS 2.0 alpha 8.5, Win XP. Transmitter is connected to computer via USB.

edit 2- Windows is no longer showing any joysticks as being installed. Maybe that's my problem. How do I reinstall my Transmitter as a joystick? I don't remember doing that the first time.

Just unplug it and then plug it back in. Windows should spot it, show you the "Found new hardware" thingy and install it for you.

If it doesn't pick it up try it again but this time with transmitter plugged in and switched on.
