sim wont start

just got it and installed it. had to changed the compatablility but now when it goes to start it says "error while getting proc address for flat thunks. how do i fix this. i have 2.0 alpha 8.5. i wanna get to flying already.

"Windows XP: Error message "Error while getting proc address for flat thunks"

This is, because on XP you have set the option "...run as Windows 9x..." for the FMS. This way Windows XP tells the FMS, that it is a Windows 95/98/Me compatible system, what is wrong. When the FMS tries to loads the 16-bit interface driver, it fails.

Solution: Remove this option "...run as Windows 9x..." for the FMS.

So that would be....put the compatibility back to the correct setting .

ok how because its just 95, 98/me, nt 4.0 (service pack 5), and 2000. and it wont even try to start without it being set on 98

So what OS are you actually using and what happens when you simply untick the compatibility box ?

FMS works fine for me on Win XP Home SP2 or SP3 but I can get exactly what you describe if I set it in compatibility mode and Win 95 or Win 98/ME.

when i unclick the box it puts it on 9x but when clicked i have to pick. and when i put it on 98 it tries to start but then stops and gives me the flat thunks error report. when on 9x it just wont even try.

You still haven't said what version of Windows you're using.

When I unclick the Compatibility Mode box it greys out the selection dropdown so it doesn't matter what it says and FMS works. What EXACTLY does yours do ?

Maybe someone found a sollution for this problem????

Installation = ok
After click to short cut, the message: “fms.exe hat ein Problem festgestellt und muss beendet werden.”
Where is the problem? I haven’t dry to start the program in a “Kompatibilitätsmodus” sutch as (Win95) there is no hook! I use Win XP Media Centre Edition.
