vista model problems

hi there,i have been trying to get my downloaded models to work but i can`t.i`m using vista and the models i have downloaded are in a window media file.don`t know if that is right or not but when i copy/paste the models into the fms model folder nothing happens.i have opened the downloaded models but the media player won`t play them and the same goes for fms,they do not appear in the model section at all.i have a feeling that someone is going to tell me how to do this(hopefully)and i`m gonna feel stupid because it`s easy.i`ve spent hours trawling r/c forums but i couldn`t find anyone with this problem or any answer to it.if anyone can help me i thank you in advance
