cant download fms to vista (sos)

can someone please help me. im having trouble downloading my fms to vista, its a brand new computer. all i get is a flashing screen. and cant fly any aircrafts. please help me. it allows me to choose what aircraft i want, but i cant get a scenary. someone please help me and thank you
