Addon models don't work on 7.0

Hi all

I am using a asus eee pc (16gb flash,900mhz celeron,1gb ram)
and i have tried to install 8.5 alpha but without succees, it always gets "frame problems"
Then I tried the 7.0 and it worked.
After flying for a few hours i realized that addon models and landscapes don't work
Does someone have the same problems?
Any fix?

The only way to get FMS 2 alpha 8.5 models to work with FMS 2 beta 7 is to find an equivalent flying FMS 2.7 .par file, delete the current FMS 2.8 .par and rename your found FMS 2.7 .par file to be the same name as your model.

Swapping FMS 2.7 .par files for 2.8 allows any airplane to fly with FMS 2.7. Unfortunately, you lose a lot, wind does not work well, only one collision point at the CG, no ground handling, less accurate flight physics.

According to John Galt, a difference between 7 and 8is that 8 requires a serial (COM) port. If your PC doesn't have one then install a virtual COM port. See

Another option is to only download FMS 2.7 models for FMS 2.7. There are probably close to 1,000 models built for FMS 2.7. So if you can't make FMS 2.8 work by adding a virtual COMx serial port, just use FMS 2.7 on your netbook and search for the FMS 2.7 models. The rc-sim.de site has a full section for FMS 2.7. There are several on my site, a mess more from Georg Gerdes on my site and several other authors with hundreds more. You're bound to find something you like.

The more recent models built for FMS 2.8 are far superior with multiple collision points, good ground handling and better reaction to wind and landing which FMS 2.7 does not have. FMS 2.8 will also fly both versions of models.
