Exception ECom Port error in Win 7

Can someone please tell me what I need to do with the following error:

Exception EComPort in module FMS.exe at 0008AFEC
Registry error (win error code: 2)

I just bought a new Win 7 computer & our Esky worked perfect on the old XP version. What I tried so far:
- Install software - get error

- Uninstall software, reinstall from this website - version 8.5
- Install the d3drm file, both in the Windows/System32 and Windows/SysWOW64

Continuing to get the error. Computer seems to recognize that I've plugged in a USB device but can't get software to launch at all.

I (well, really my husband, who is even less computer literate than I am) would be most grateful.
