unable to run fms

hi, im a noobie looking to get into rc flight after my wife game me a 3 channel toy heli to fly around the house.

i want to try a sim before delving deeper but have been unable to get either beta 7 or alpha 8.5 to successfully run

i am using an acer aspire one 751 - atom processor and intel gma 500 graphics accelerator

i can install the programme but on start up the screen goes black and then the computer crashes with blue screen.

the error report lists igpdd32.dll which i understand from a google search is associated with the graphics drivers.

i have updated all the graphics drivers to the most current.

anyone have any suggestions.

sorry forgot to mention im running xp home and have a virtual serial port installed
