FMS AND WINDOWS 7

CAN`T INSTALL THIS SIM. TRIED 3 TIMES, ALWAYS WITH REGISTRATION ERROR MESSAGE
WILL THIS RUN ON MY SYSTEM W/ WIDOWS 7?

Yes it will work. Some things to note.

FMS needs a COMx serial port defined in the registry.
FMS needs the DirectX .dll called d3drm.dll.
If you have an Nvidia graphics card. See the fix .

How do you define a COMx serial port in the registry on Win 7??? For those of us who are not techno-savvy, this might as well be Portuguese. My error message is the same as others when I try to run the program after installation - "Exception EComPort in module FMS.exe at 0008B728. Registry error (win error code:2)." I'm not even sure how to access my COM ports in Windows 7. Messing with my registry? Lost....

If someone could offer a step-by-step approach to this problem, I'm sure many of us would be ever grateful. (Like others, I am repeatedly failing at my efforts to install FMS 2.0 Alpha 8.3.)

Grab a computer savvy person and look at the first post in this Windows-Version thread. Win7 fixes are much like WinVista. -- ggunners
