Problems with Windows 7

Postby sparky23 » Fri Nov 26, 2010 4:06 am

Hi, I'm relatively new to FMS, I've installed it on Windows 7 and it won't even start up. I even ran it under compatibility mode and it won't work... I'm not sure what the problem is. Is there anywhere I can begin to fix this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The tips for running under WIndows XP and Vista is a sticky at the top of this section and a great place to start.

FMS 2 alpha 8.5 is the latest version created in 2004 and it expects your PC to have a serial port called COM1 ... etc.
Also, you need the XP version of directx called d3drm.dll which goes in the FMS folder next to fms.exe.
Then you could have problems with the latest drivers for Nvidia video cards.

Give it a try and check back with us on your progress.
