Problem with win2000

Hi, (I'm German, i tried this in english)
I have a Problem with my Win2000.
Before a long time it worked without errors
now when I install any FMS Alpha 8.5 (The normal one and the Multiplex Edition 2) it says:

"FMS.exe hat einen Fehler verursacht und muss geschlossen werden. Ein Fehlerprotokoll wird erstellt"
like "FMS.exe had an error. It must be closed. An error protocol will be ?no idea: Erstellt?"

The bizarre is FMS Beta 7 works without errors. But the most models are for Alpha 8.
Now i have Direct X 9.0c from the Need for speed Underground 2 Game CD. Other: Win 2000, AMD Athlon XP 2600+, 512 MB ram, GeForce4 Ti 4200 64MB.
I Have no idea of what Direct x i had when it worked.

Check to see if you have a COM port identified in your Windows registry, If not, FMS 2.8.5 will error out.

Sometimes folks turn off their COM ports in the BIOS. You need at least one for FMS.

I disabeld all IRQ-using ports in bios, so my AGP-card can use IRQ 4(normally COM1), Thanks for fast answer.
