Just make it open source...

FMS development seems to be dead.
just make it open source (finally) - and see if there will be progress or not. but the current state does not help anyone.

Opensource!

Yes, I would love to see FMS as openSource. Maybe I would even try to give it a chance and compile on Vista myselve...

YES! Please... we're begging you. The makers of other sims are ripping people off, charging upwards of $200 for sims that aren't that much better. There is no reason why FMS couldn't be the absolute best sim on the market, but when development is done by one person...

IMO those others sims don't deserve to be on the market. The only thing they offer that FMS doesn't have is some different views, and maybe the weird explosion of parts when you crash... but who needs that.

Make it open source so I can add the "keep the ground in view" feature, and nobody will ever need to burn their money on those other sims.

There is another option for a low cost sim - look here. http://rcflightsim.com/?gclid=CK_P28jlx ... YAodGWpiFQ

I don't know if Stefan has developed it to work with Vista yet, but I suspect he's working on it. Drop him an email & I'm sure he'll tell you the status - he's very good about responding to inquiries.

I do wish that I could keep the ground in view. It has been the main reason for my crashes. Open source would make this sim Boom! Have you seen how huge Flightgear.org is? That is an open source sim (not RC), and they have had thousands of people join as of just recently.

On top of that, you could actually charge a "support fee" to let people have a multi-player online experience. Several sites offer this and do very well. All of them still offer their software for free.
