I just downloaded the simulator program and now would like to hook up my old Futaba tx, AM, to operate the simulator.. Is this possible, and if so, what do I need to change in order to do it?

If your tx has a training socket then it's certainly possible. Try Google and search for "FMS interface" for a few (thousand) ideas ;).

The info in should be sufficient to get your ppm signal inside the transmitter and hook up a connector.
