Par editing

I have tried to download some of the par editing software programs from the links provided in various threads around the forum.

I would like to get into some of the planes and make some modifications and I can't seem to get the included par editor to work right.

Can someone direct me to a download of a par editor or at the vary least, tell me how to change the rudder control from channel 1 to channel 3 for one of my models. Thanks!

I would like the rudder moved to the aileron channel but I cannot figure out how to do it.

For FMS 2.7 models you can not move rudder to the aileron channel. You can only do this with FMS 2.8 models.

For your FMS 2.7 .par file you could change the 0.10 on rudder to 0.00 and have zero rudder and then change aileron to a postive number like 0.05 or so. It would do the job but then the plane would fly as an A/E/T 3-channel instead of a R/E/T 3 channel.

I don't understand the Parameters in the 2.0beta7 PAR-file.
I don't understand why there are two values for the c_w.
the value in line 8 seems to rise the Elevatorruder effect without being limited by the ca_max
in line 17 there is a value that seems to have an effect on the weight of the wing, but not the lift.
try to make that value higher and you will notice the plane to pitch down.
the tail produces lift, but how much and what is determinating it?

Line 8: 6.200 8:CLa(/rad) Lift Gradient

Sounds like how lift increases from the wing, higher number means more lift.

Line 17: 0.3000 17:c(m) Wing Chord

Just how big the wing chord is in meters.

Line 17 has not much effect on the lift but it has major effect on the weight distribution. that needs to be mentioned. one would think that increasing the chord has no effect as long as the CG changes in the same proportion, but this is not the case.
Line 8: it's influence seems independent of the wingssurface only the maximum lift is limited by the wingsize and ca_max.

unless you have a specific reason to stick to the old 2.7 .par-file version, you would do yourself a favor switching over to 2.85. It has many more variables to tinker with, offers better flight realism and can be editet via this mostly self-explanatory graphical editor:
