Hi.
I've just started writing on an open source version of the FMS r/c simulator. I call it OpenFMS. I've set up a homepage, , that will be updated as the project progresses. In addition to the source code, there is a forum and a wiki.
The goal for version 1.0 is basically to make an open source (GPL licenced), multiplatform (Windows, Linux and Mac) version of FMS. OpenFMS is written in C/C++ and uses Ogre3D library () to do the graphics and Bullet physics library () to do the physics.
At the time I'm writing this, the project is in a very initial stage (No finished program yet - not even a reduced features version). And what I currently need help with the most - and what I really really need to really get going - is to find out and document (approximately) how the FMS simulator works internally - like detailed .par file formats and how to mathematically simulate the models using the information in these files. Note: You do not need to be a programmer to contribute here!
I you have programmer skills and want to contribute, contact me via the OpenFMS project homepage.
The more of you help out, the faster we get this thing of the ground.
