Help with FP-T4NBF FM Conquest Transmitter - Can't use my radio and receiver

Hello.
I have been using my Transmitter to play FMS but not removing crystal, and now my receiver and Transmitter doesn't work. It works with FMS but on the plane doesn't. Do I have to remove crystal? Is it defectif? If so my radio is on frequency 50.800 MHz and channell 00. Does someone have crytalls for sale for the same frequency? Please e-mail me at [email]japb@gosympatico.ca.[/email]

It is possible that you have damaged the RF output stage if you have been using your transmitter for long periods switched on and with the crystal installed. The output stage can overheat with the aerial down.

For some sets the coder stage only is powered when a buddy lead is connected. (main switch off) In this case you can leave the crystal in. A good double check is to measure the current consumed by the transmitter. If it is nearer 20ma only the coder is powered. If around 200ma the RF stage is operating.

But the general rule is if you have to switch your transmitter on you should remove the crystal or output module.

I would try borrowing a crystal before buying one.
