FSM WINXP and analog intarfaces - analog Interfaces are not allowed

on WIN XP I installed a "Destroyer Extreme" USB joystick as well as a Focus 4 TX on the parallel port with the PPJOY software and the proper cable:
the Microsoft Flight Simulator works fine with both of them, but FSM does not work with any of them.
No error messages of some sort, the model just starts at full gas without control and crashes somewhere far from sight...
Someone could suggest a realiable and tested method to use FSM with WIN XP and a FOCUS 4 TX?
