Greyed-out options - Configuration problem

Postby donmac » Sun Jul 13, 2003 8:34 pm

FMS installed OK (on pc running XP Pro) and appears to run OK. I want to use it with trainer lead from Futaba Transmitter to parallel port - but when I select Controls/ Analog/ Parallel (either mode) the next two buttons (Resources and Mapping/Calibration) are greyed-out - so I cannot select LPT1 and proceed.

(Parallel port is set to ECP/EPP in BIOS.)

(Selecting Control/ Analog/ Joystick, with my MS FS yoke in the game port, controls the FMS plane OK. Unplugging the yoke does not solve problem.)

I have read the forums and Mike Roberts' good advice.

Will value help.

Donald.

You've obviously somehow missed the critical bit of information, often repeated on these forums.

The simple parallel and serial port interfaces do not work with operating systems later than Win98/ME. I.e. your parallel port lead does not work with XP. That's why the option is greyed out.
