Help!!! (Direct port access under XP) - FMS won't even try to access ports in XP

I want to use FMS and my direct PPM interface to the parallel port of my PC under Windows XP.

As some of you may know, XP (by default) prevents user programs from direct access to the hardware so I configured it with a utility to allow it.

Now the hardware works but FMS refuses to try because it “knows” it will fail. I tried to lie to it using the compatibility options but that just gives me the “Error while getting proc address for flat thunks” error.

How can I get FMS to attempt direct port access under XP (which WILL work now).

Could you share with me what program you use to tweak Win XP LPT Port, so that I can test on my side with my FMS Cable under Win XP as well. Thanks.
