Parallelport+XP - Transistor circiut or dosen´t work either?

Hi

I build this cable with z-diode and resistor. Which dosen´t work.
Now I´m reading two things all the time:

1. The cable need to be configured to have an transistor amplifier to power the signal at the Ack pin, then it works.

2. It doesn´t work under XP at all.


WHAT THE HELL IS RIGHT ????
(trying to connect a MX-16s JR-Graupner Radio)

1. A parallel port interface will not work under WinXP unless you use PPJoy (do a search) or some similar program.

2. The original zener diode version never worked very well with any operating system.

I did try both Versions with PPjoy, but none worked. Then I tried the debug mode of PPJoy, but I did not get any speaker sound while connecting Pin 10/18. By settings in Win seem to be ok (ECP Port DMA3 IRQ7).

Any Ideas?

Think I´ll switsch to a serial cable instead.
