Futaba FG HW interfcae schematics

Futaba FG HW interfcae schematics

Postby ilan222 » Mon Sep 28, 2009 10:12 pm

I have an old Futaba FG (gold) transmitter.
RF module is:FP-TF-AM 72Mhz.
Trainer connector is round 5pin DIN connector without center pin.

Would like to build an FMS HW interfcae.
What are the trainer connector pins functions?
Is there a need to invert the PPM signal?

Hi,

The newer versions of FMS do not support the parallel or com port interfaces but there is an even simpler solution. There is a free software interface called SmartProPlus. All you need to make is a cable that will connect between your transmitter and the microphone input of your sound card. It sounds far too easy - but it works very well.

All the information for making the cable and downloading and running the software can be found on the SmartProPlus homepage:

http://www.smartpropoplus.com/

Let us know if you run into any problems.

Good luck

PS,

The only information I have on the old Futaba radios with the five pin socket is:
------------ 2
-------------o-----------
-----5-o----------o-4--- Connector as seen from the front.
-------------------------
-------3-o------o-1-----

Signal = Pin 1
Ground = Pin 2

You do not need to invert the signal because the software detects pulse edges rather than levels.
