connecting futaba t4vf to fms - interface does not work

Hi
i am new to the r/c world,i was introduced to fms to practice flying due to my glider coming of second best with the ground.i have a futaba t4vf ,windows xp, installed ppjoy,made an interface cable using a 2n2222a transistor.as far as i can see i have selected everything in the device manager and ppjoy.when i go into fms, controls and select parallel/serial interface the resources or mapping/calibration icons are grey and can not be selected.can anyone help me with this problem , i would really appreciate it (so frustrating)

If you're using PPJoy you need to select Joystick not parallel/serial.

I did try both Versions with PPjoy, but none worked. Then I tried the debug mode of PPJoy, but I did not get any speaker sound while connecting Pin 10/18. By settings in Win seem to be ok (ECP Port DMA3 IRQ7).
