I have just modified my GWS Dream Starter for connecting to my computer. But both the buttons "resource and the "calibrate" under the option "parallel /serial 32bit vdx" were always disabled. Why? Am I done something wrong??

I directly connect the PPM signal (5v peak) from the IC to the pin(10) of the parallel port and the ground is connected to pin (18).

I think the 5v peak voltage matched to the TTL level of the serial port, so I have added nothing between them. Am I wrong?

What operating system ? Parallel port connections don't work with Win NT/2000/XP.

Oh no! I am using win2k.
That means I may need to use serial port connection, otherwise reinstall the operation system, right!?
Too bad.

The basic serial port i/f doesn't work either. For Win 2K you'll need a PIC serial interface or a joystick interface.
