Confused new user - Laptop - serial port problems

I downloaded the FMS 7 software with the hope of using it on a Compaq Armada 110 laptop (Celeron 847MHz & Windows ME), with a Futaba FF6 Tx and serial interface.

After tweaking the settings in the DirectX 'DxDiag' software (the laptop has a Trident Cyberblade i1 AGP (51) graphics card as standard) I did have FMS running, albeit with the textures turned off - the frame rate was OK for me and it was fine.

Now however, it doesn't work with the FF6 Tx any more - it's like there's no signal from the Tx at all.

Any suggestions? As far as I can tell the Tx and serial interface cable are fine, and now I don't understand why it worked at first but doesn't now.

You've not changed the model in the FF6 have you, perhaps to one using PCM ? It has to be in PPM mode.

Thanks for the reply, I hadn't changed the mode on the Tx - it seems the interface cable I have is at fault unfortunately.

When funds allow I guess I just have to buy another
