Need to remove the crystal ??? - Need to remove the crystal ???

I have just made a serial interface for my Futaba FC-16.
The interface is made from the diagram in the manual, and it works perfectly.
Now I need to know if I have to remove the crystal in the remote or not. Please help me, thus I don't want to destroy my remote, on the other side, it's a pain to remember to remove the crystal every time.

Taking the crystal out is usually the easiest way to stop Tx from transmitting RF. It is not a good idea to transmit with the aerial down, it can damage the RF output stage. Also the battery lasts a lot longer if the Tx is not transmitting.

Some Futaba Txs will not transmit RF if they are powered via the trainer socket but I don't know your particular model.

So it's not absolutely vital to remove the crystal but it is the simplest thing to do.

I recently bought the interface cable from Wildorf.de
But It just doesn't seem to work.
I have the FC-16 with the F-1505 trainer module w/ disconnector switch.
I have tried 3 different Operating systems 98, ME and W2K, with no luck.
Am I doing somthing wrong. Shouldn't you just plug it in the back of the PC and the back of the Radio-Ctrl. And select the proper interrupt.
I am not very good at the technical stuff, so I cannot make my own interface.

Can anyone please help.....!!
