FC-18 junior - ohne Lehrer/Schüler Buchse

Postby Robert » Tue Dec 18, 2001 5:45 pm

<german part>

Hallo,

Hi folks,

I bought a FC-18 junior and want to connect it to my PC, without using a pupil/teacher port (because it's too expensive). But from where can I get the signals?
TIA for every reply.

Hallo,

Robert

I have added transmitter connection details to my website. This includes the FC18. Please check it out and let me know if it helps. RC Projects>Flying Model Simulator>transmitter connections.

Hi Mike,

yes it helped a bit. I build an interface a few days ago and it worked fine. For protecting my transmitter I remove always the crystal. Now I see the "bridge" between pin 4 and 5 of the 6 pole DIN-plug. If I solder this bridge into my interface, can I leave the Crystal in its place? Note: It's an old FC 18 junior (ver 1) and I don't want to destroy it after such good times with it :=)

Robert
The bridge between pins 4 and 5 should power up the coder with the transmitter switch OFF. You can double check that the output stage is not powered by either measuring the total current consumption (20-30ma coder only or 160-200ma if all on) or just see if the output transistor is hot after a few minutes operation.

Hi,

thanks for the tip. I've measured appr. 32 mA, so everything should be fine.
