The simplest Serial Interface - "One resistor" serial interface

I are using win98SE. On that it depend? win98=16bit and winNT4=32bit??

I have make the cable conection and it works corretly, but in 32 bit mode it´s work same that 16bit mode (seemingly)

Sounds like you have it working.

About the operating system. Windows 2000 does not suport the serial interface.

I purchased a lpt type cable and it wouldn't work with FMS on my machiene. It worked with the test program that fms comes with though.. I tried all different types of settings and it still wouldn't work. I sent that one back and got a serial type cable that seems to be using this simple design. Ground in pin 5 and a wire with a single resister going into pin 9. It doesn't seem to work either.. I have a futaba 4ch radio. I just ordered all the parts to make this one.

But the numbering seems to be wrong on this diagram.
Here are my questions..
1. Is there anything I can try to get my current serial cable to working.
2. Is the pin numbers in the diagram above correct? Or are the positions of the pins correct??

Oh.. and on the reciever side this cable has pins 1 and 2 soldered together.. Anyone know why?
