CT206B PCM Transmitter not working on FMS

Hi all. I bought a Camco Lynx 3 D Heli and controller complete with FMS software included. Here are some links http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?

The cable supplied with the Controller would not fit my lappy as it has no serial port, so I bought a serial to USB adaptor cable. When I plug everything into the lappy, Windows finds new hardware calls it a "USB controller" and proceeds to search for a driver. However it fails to find a driver and says new hardware may not work properly. Any help greatly appreciated.
