Ambrosia Aerochopper serial controller erratic movement

Has anyone been able to get the ambrosia aerochopper controller working with fms? i added a virtual driver w/ PPJoy and set it up with the ambrosia PPCom interface (4800 baud)

but it still is very erratic when i go to configure the controller. when even when im not moving the joysticks it seems to jump around a tiny bit

is there a way to make this more solid?
