problems connecting the 3 ch RC to the FMS (by audio cable)

Postby adrian99 » Sat Sep 16, 2006 6:32 am

I just bought an ART-TECH Wing Dragon II that comes with a 3 ch E-FLY FM digital proportional RC system. Being new to RC flight, I want to train with the FMS first. I can not control the FMS with the RC.
I work with WIN XP. I use FMS ver 2 beta 7.
The RC came with an AUDIO cable (mono jack).
When connecting the audio cable to the MIC port of the sound card, I choose the MIC option and adjust the volume, but I am not sure what level of volume I should choose - there is some signal for almost every volume level above 0.
I have problems with the calibration in the Analog control section of the FMS - there is no reaction to moving the controls.
The manual says the channels should be chosen in accordance with the WIN operating system - I tried all combinations, without any success. The FMS is controlled by the keyboard in all cases.
I do not know in which position the REV / NOR buttons should be.
The RC does work with the model receivers.
Lots of unknowns, I gave many details in hope someone can help me.

Did you get it with SmartPropoPlus? Which version? If it is indeed SPP, you just have to select the Mic option. In most cases the audio input pre-adjustments will do.

Thanks, SPP works

Toda raba.
This really helped, it works fine.
The only thing is that they call this model a beginer's one, stable and easy to fly. Well, not yet for me.
Thanks again.

Happy I could be useful.
I'd be interested to learn where you bought it (if you did in Israel) and what version of SmartPropoPlus it comes with.
Have Fun.

SPP for FMS

Postby adrian99 » Sat Sep 16, 2006 9:19 pm

I bought the Wing Dragon II kit in Rishon (www.propeller.co.il).
I downloaded the SPP from your site today (ver 3.1.0) and it works with FMS ver 2 beta 7. By the way, the guy from the shop could not help me.
Thanks again,

Adrian
