New To Hobby--transmitter question

Hi folks,

Am new to hobby and just bought a Esky Flight Simulator. Will be a plane once I somewhat master this device. Anyhow, figured out what all the controls do except---on the bottom right of the transmitter face (next to the words ESKY HOBBY) is a switch with an up arrow on it. It does not seem to slide up and down. What is it?

Hmmm... We do not know what switch you are talking about. Any more details? -- ggunners

It is in the silver colored band on the bottom right hand side of the unit. The more I look at it, the more I think it is a non-functioning control. If it worked , it would slide up and down. Also, when does one use the tabs on the transmitter. Have started to fly and am improving but haven't used any of the tabs.
