USB connection to JR X2720 problems

USB connection to JR X2720 problems

Postby DCN » Mon May 03, 2010 10:50 am

I am a new to this game and I am having problems getting the FMS program to recognise the JR X2720 unit. The FMS program runs OK but I am unsure of the connection details to get the PIC interface working. It asks for a com port number, but I can't find that information on the computer.
What I have is a laptop working Win XP with the FMS USB adapter connecting to the JR X2720 via the DSC 3.5mm connector. The JR has been set up in "training" mode, however there a few different settings for that as well. (I am afraid I am still trying to come to grips with the jargon.)
Any help would be appreciated.

The transmitter should not be switched on and it should not be in training mode.

Also a USB interface is NOT a PIC interface. So which are you using ? A USB interface appears in the sim as a joystick interface and should be calibrated as that.

Just from personal experience, i would add, The battery in the TX has to be charged even though the TX is off.
