ZEBRA 4 FM & FMS via SmartPropoPlus

Hi, Mates!

I'm happy to announce, that finally I got my Zebra FM 4 Transmitter to work with FMS, using only a standard cable - 3,5mm to 3,5mm (Stereo) Plugs - AND thea great SmartPropoPlus Interface Software.

it was a little bit tricky, so if somebody else wants to use this transmitter with FMS, taking the inexpensive way, feel free to contact me, if problems occure.

DEUTSCH: die (preiswert&gut) Zebra FM 4 Fernsteuerung braucht nur ein normales Stereo Klinke-Klinke (3,5mm) Kabel und die geniale SmartPropoPlus Interface Software, um als ordentlicher Controller mit FMS zu laufen.
Sollte jemand das nicht hinkriegen, schreibt mir ruhig ...

For me it looks like that the Multiplex Zebra 4FM and the Hitec Laser 4 FM share the same printed circuit board and the same software inside there microcontroller. One of the IC’s on the board has a lable HT LASER 4A.
If we compare both transmitter we see the following feature differences:

The Zebra does not have:
• Elevon Mixing (Ch 1 & Ch 2)
• V-tail Mixing (Ch 1 & Ch 2)
• ATVs (Adjustable Travel Volume) Ch 1 & Ch 2

The Mixing functionality could be activated by adding a 2x3 jumper block. Its possible to select the mixer by jumpers or switches mounted into the chassis.

The Adjustable Travel Volume feature by replacing the wires by two 10kOhm potentiometer either by adding the parts on the PCB directly or mounting them into the chassis.




Under your battery cover you find a description for the jumper settings and ATV resistors. Jumperblock and potentiometer are above the servo reversing switches.

The trainer system switch should als work, but I have’nt found the right pins on PCB.
If someone has opend his Laser 4 transmitter, he could pass the info.

Yes, it sounds like my own story. I also restarted this hobby after nearly 30 years. And the funny point is, i also have finished an EasyStar to get warm. The PPjoy/SppConsole tools are working now. With your advise - the step by step guide - i realized a problem of the sound input on my laptop. With my desktop it's running.
