TX won't work, calibration in Windows not OK, using USB

All,

i've just bought a Walkera HM 53Q, using a WK-2401 2,4 Ghz 4-channel TX. Let's just say that i am a complete amateur regarding this and I want to practice on FMS before using my Walkera for real.

I've installed FMS, then I connected my TX using a USB cable, installation was automatically and it says PPM in the calibration screen of Windows. But no matter what i do, i just cannot get my TX calibrated, same for FMS (only the 1st bar moves when I move the throttle or rudder or anything else, 4 last bars do nothing, bar 2-4 are jittering).

When I consult the manual, it's talking of a mode I or II which involves different regions and requires to open up the TX.

It also talks of 12 DIP's, but only the first 4 are used and 5-12 apparently not.

Can anyone give advice on how to get my TX working with FMS and, in the first place, get properly calibrated thru windows? I'm using Windows XP Home btw

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
