How to connect Futaba T6EXAP with FMS

I have a computer that runs windows 7 with XP mode. I have FMS installed in XP mode but I can't seem to connect my Futaba transmitter to the computer with the cable. The cable works as I have tried on other XP running computers. What is the problem? The version of FMS I am running is alpha 8.2.

It's worth upgrading to FMS V2 Alpha 8.5.
Other than that, can't really help without knowing what sort of cable it is.
