Only half of controls working

When I set this up on my comnputer, I followed the instructions, however, only the elevation side of the controller is working. The throttle side is not. I have tried several times and always end up with the same result. Any suggetions?

What controller ? What method of connection, where from ? What PC operating software ?

By "elevation side" do you mean the elevator and aileron controls work but not throttle and rudder ?
