old connector..

Hi!
i have a FMS old transmitter and the connector is DB9 [9 Pins]
in my comp i don't have an DB9 port because it so old..
where can i found adapter for this?

The DB-9 was used with Hitec transmitters. You should buy a new USB sim connector for your transmitter or maybe buy an old Hitec FM transmitter for use with your cable and sims. --ggunners

I think by "DB9" you mean the old serial port COM connector. If so then you could buy a serial to USB convertor.

You can't just solder on a USB connector because it needs some electronics building into it and they are completely different from what is in your existing serial port FMS interface.

It's probably easier just to buy a new USB interface. Google or search EBay for "FMS USB cable". They are very cheap .

You need to get a USB sim cable for your specific transmitter connection.

My mistake, the Hitec was a round 6-pin interface.

So, yes, it sounds like a 9-pin serial COMx cable.

We know what a DB9 connector looks like, what we don't know is where it came from or what it is connected to. What's on the other end of the cable and is there any electronics connected to it (may be inside the DB9 casing) ? What makes you think it's intended for use with FMS ?

That is a very old simulator dual-joystick. You could try a USB to 9-pin serial adapter but it may not work as the drivers for that unit might need physical access to the COM port. It would be better to get a new USB version. -- ggunners
