FMS locks up with error message in Vista

I get the following message: Access violation at address 10003BB7 in module 'wimmm.dll', Read of address 0000049C. Please, how can I fix this. Thank you.

Usually Windows will provide some more detail under a button that helps explain what the error was.

I am not familiar with that .dll file so cannot comment.

FMS has known issues with WinVista including a COM port error and a d3drm.dll that might be missing.
