Joystick don't work. FMS 2 Aplha 8.5

Hi, just got my E-sky Big Lama (E-500) helicopter and i wanted to use the simulator, after solving the D3DRM.dll problem I am now facing a new
problem, the "joystick" thats used to control the helicopter don't work in the simulator.

I can see it and use it in control panel, but not in the simulator, why?
I connect it with the USB-cable that was in the package but still...

Any good ideas?

If you are using Windows XP, make sure that you have selected the transmitter as the device you want to use with older programs - under the "Advanced" settings. Did you try setting it up in FMS using the "Controls" drop-down menu? If not, do so and then calibrate it. After that, assign the left four bars that move with your controls to the top four boxes on the left. These are the controls for planes. Copy the top four assignments to the bottom four boxes for helicopter control. When you try flying, you may find that you have to go back and reverse some of the channels.

Thanks, running Vista btw, and i still can't get the helicopter to lift off the ground. :/


Joystick 2 is "not active" if i press "controls" > "analog control" > "joystick interface" > "ressources" ..

Try the keyboard controls, if they work, it is a controller problem.

Max throttle = "V", Zero throttle = "H"
Throttle up one step "G", down "B"
Aileron left "J", right "K"
Rudder left "<-" left arror, right "->" right arrow
Elevator push "^" up arrow, pull down arrow

Could you calibrate the controller using Windows Control Panel, Game Controllers?

With WinXP, you click on [Start]
Then click [Control Panel]
Then click [Game Controllers]

You will then see a button called [Advanced] to click.
Make sure you select your transmitter or Sim Controller as the "Preferred device".

Then you need to Start FMS
Click on [Controls]
Click on [Analog control]
Click on [Joystick interface]
Then click on [Mapping / Calibration]

Move each stick up and down and left and right and map the correct number of blue bar that moved to the correct control. I alwyas copy the airplane settings to the helicopter settings.
