My joystick only works partially.

Help!!!!
On FMS,I tried to calibrate the joystick (HobbyKing 6 Channel R/C Flight Simulator Mode 2) using my Windows 7 laptop without much success, although no problems with calibrating Flight Simulator RC Desk Pilot. Therefore, the 'Transmitter' seems to be OK !?!
On FMS when calibrating, only the RH joystick activates (blue bars 7 and go up and down, the LH one activates absolutely nothing.
For FMS, channel settings seem to be 78657865, on RC Desk Pilot Ails 1, Elev 2, Rudder 6, Throttle 3.
What on earth's going on?

FMS is an old application. Make sure you calibrate the controller with Windows, Control Panel, Game Controllers first and then select the Advanced tab and make sure you have the preferred controller. -- ggunners

Thanks, ggunners, don't quite understand it, but the problem seems to be resolved with ch 6-2-1-3
