Hi, new member here. I have FMS 2.7 on two computers. One with Win XP, and the other with Vista. The programs on both computers work good, except that the controls on the planes don't move. The motor revs when I feed it power, but rudder, elevator, and ailerons don't move. Yet the planes fly as if everything was working normal. For a controller I use an FS one Hanger 9 controller on both computers. Is this normal?

You are trying to fly an FMS 2.8 model with FMS 2.7. Uninstall 2.7 and install 2.8 to fix the problem. Otherwise, only try to fly FMS 2.7 models. They have a very short .par file around 1K, FMS 2.8 .par files are over 10K.

Thank you for your reply. I just tried installing FMS alpha 85 on my Vista machine and it won't install. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. I just get the message that the program has stopped working. Marc

There are known problems with Vista and WinXP.

both: need a COM port defined in the registry. Just turning on the COM port in your BIOS will work or a USB to COM port or a virtual COM port. Search the forums for more details.

Vista: issues with needing a graphic d3dm.dll file that WinXP has but Vista does not.
