MODELS SHOOT UP IN THE SKY!!!!

Hi all,

I have FMS 2.0 Alpha 8.2 and all is well with transmitter "SKY501" and keyboard controls expect when I download any new models.

The model loads fine and I can fly it but it then shoots up in the sky at high speed and is effectively out of control.

Any ideas would be helpful.

Models going out of control may be related to the sampling interval of the physics engine. If it's too long, high frequency osscillations can escalate and turn your model into a ball-lightning. Try lowering the sample time and see if that helps (Menu > Simulation > Options > Sample time). The default is 0.005, setting it to 0.003 did work for me in such a case.

Thanks for that but I have just tried it and it makes very little difference. Any other ideas.

You should uninstall FMS 2 alpha 8.2 and upgrade to FMS 2 alpha 8.5, the latest version. Which model and which scenery are you using. What you describe sounds like a crash animation when the wheel or collision points are set a bit too sensitive. Try turning off crash animation first. Check other models too.
