Using downloaded files

Using downloaded files

Postby Andrew Leigh » Mon Oct 11, 2010 7:02 am

Hi,

I have downloaded the Phonix 60 HW Trainer.

How do I get to use it in FMS, when unzipped it comes up as a .exe file and is looking for a different application to run from.

Thanks
Andrew

Hmmm... It is unclear to me what you have there or where you got it from. Most FMS models are .zip and the then unzip to make 6 or 7 files that should go into your C:\ Program Files\ FMS\ Model\ directory. An .exe file is either a self-extracting archive .zip file or another application. I would scan it with a virus checker before proceeding. -- ggunners

Hi,

I read a post of yours speaking of rc-sim and the download site. I got the impression that these planes were usable for FMS.

I then went to http://www.rc-sim.de/wbb3/index.php?pag ... category=0 and downloaded the Trainer 60 HW.

It is this model that I have the problem with. Are rc-sim planes useable with FMS?

Regards
Andrew

RC-Sim Planes which say they are for FMS work with FMS. Planes intended for other simulators like the one in your link, which says it's for Aerofly Professional Deluxe, generally do not.

I'm new to FMS and par files. I extracted ggunners models to the FMS model dir but the models just sit there whilst preloaded ones work! Am I missing a step?

Yes, you need to use FMS 2 alpha 8.5, new since 2004.
